Occupational Health and Safety Policy

Simpurgo wants to ensure its janitorial staff, clients and the public are provided with a safe environment in which to operate and visit. The well-being of all parties affected by Simpurgo is a priority in how we operate our janitorial business. Simpurgo’s OHS Policy is based on a belief that the well-being of all people affected by our work is a priority and must be considered during all work performed on our behalf.

People are our most important asset and their health and safety is our greatest responsibility. The public shall be given equal priority to that of our employees.

Simpurgo Management will:

✓ Proactively manage day to day OHS issues
✓ Comply with WCB
✓ Comply with Anti Discrimination Legislation
✓ Consider safety as the prime factor when creating and implementing all work systems
✓ Take all reasonable steps to provide a safe workplace and safe methods of work
✓ Ensure all documentation is kept up to date
✓ Ensure all personnel are appropriately inducted and trained for the tasks which they perform
✓ Establish measurable targets aimed at eliminating work related injury and illness
✓ Liaise with industry specialists to ensure best practices are implemented
✓ Involve our team members in regular communication, consultation and training
✓ Ensure health and safety is an integral part of every managerial and supervisory position
✓ Identify and control all potential hazards through hazard identification and risk analysis
✓ Provide effective injury management and risk management to all team members

 

Simpurgo Team Members will:

✓   Follow all Simpurgo Policies and Guidelines
✓   Follow all WHISM protocols
✓   Adhere to all policies to ensure their ongoing safety and good health
✓   Work responsibly and safely to protect themselves and others
✓   Follow reasonable instructions and use equipment appropriately to protect themselves and others
✓   Identify and report any workplace incidents and hazards to Simpurgo Management
✓   Actively participate so that all procedures and documents accurately reflect onsite experiences
✓   Agree to work free from alcohol or drugs (including prescription drugs where performance is effected)
✓   Agree to work with all appropriate PPE, machine guards and safety devices
✓   Advise Simpurgo Management of any changes in their health (work related or unrelated to work)
✓   Cease work if they believe it cannot be done safely
