Simpurgo's Risk Management Statement

Simpurgo’s Risk Management Statement is based on a belief that the well being of our custodial staff or people affected by our janitorial services is a priority and must be considered during all work performed on our behalf. This policy should be incorporated as an integral part of all business initiatives and operations, ensuring all hazards are identified, assessed, controlled, and modified as necessary to maintain safe working activities.

All Simpurgo staff must take action to minimize the cause of harm to anyone, so far as is reasonably practicable. The hierarchy of control must be learned and followed, day to day. This includes providing training to minimize any risks associated with the work environment, ensuring the safe use of all cleaning equipment and detergents. Our janitorial staff and management must do everything they can to try and predict what may cause injury or harm and take action to prevent incidents.

  • Thoroughly learn our OHS and Risk Management Policy and implement these learning tools day to day
  • Ensure our WHS Policy is learned and implemented day to day
  • Asses the risks prior to commencing work
  • Follow all WHISM and legislation guidelines
  • Ensure every detergent supplied and used in the workplace has a M.S.D.S
  • Ensure all cleaning detergents have the correct Simpurgo labeling
  • Ensure all policies, procedures and guidelines are located at each location
  • Teach all staff on the proper use, storage and purpose of our equipment and chemicals
  • Ensure the hierarchy of control is followed in the listed order
  • Report all incidents and injuries in the workplace
  • Ensure all PPE is properly used and you are trained on each task
  • Actively participate in the consultation process so that all procedures and documents accurately reflect onsite experiences
  • Agree to work free from alcohol or drugs (including prescription drugs where performance is effected)
  • Agree to work with appropriate machine guards, safety devices and PPE in place
  • Advise Simpurgo management of any change in their health status (whether work related or unrelated)
  • Be committed to continually improving the way Simpurgo is managed and the way our business encourages staff to develop their skills
  • Abide by all statutory and regulatory obligations as a minimum, and pursue best practice applications beyond these requirements
  • Cease work if you believe it cannot be done safely
